Annette Henry is a hugely popular DJ and songwriter with a list of collaborations as long as your arm. From Penthouse Music in Jamaica through to UK Based garage producer Sunship AKA Ceri Evans, she has been responsible for hits such as ‘Almighty Father’, ‘Quits’ and ‘Nokia’.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Annette has toured with The Bug across North America, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Europe. Since early childhood, music has been the main influence in her life, ever since she set foot in her uncle’s record store. “I just started playing the flip side of records, plugged in a mic and started chanting”. She was soon winning contests and got noticed.
Equally at home performing live in front of large crowds or working her magic in recording studios in the Caribbean or in London, Annette has become a synonymous name with reggae, garage and chanting. She has the ability to create unique sounds that work wonders on the dance floor and stir a crowd to new heights. Her abilities to whip up the crowd into a frenzy have helped her to become the legendary Warrior Queen, she is to music what Queen Elizabeth, Boudica and Joan of Arc were to their own followers.
