Jon Cutler
Jon’s began DJing at the age of fifteen and has become a well known face at many of the underground clubs in New York City. In the early 80’s Jon began his exposure by playing at local neighbourhood house parties. It was not until years later that he actually gained the opportunity to spin in clubs.
As Jon’s sets progressed, he began producing and started acquiring a first class collection of necessary studio equipment. After working at an independent record label for two years, he had grasped the knowledge of the industry and was ready to advance.
Jon’s entrepreneurial side surfaced in 1996 when he finally decided to start his own label. With Distant Music up and running, Jon’s set about launching a powerful catalogue with a focus beyond his own productions. Cutler displayed his ever evolving talent with productions such as “You Groove Me” and “Fluttie Pebbles” as well as remixes under Distant Music.
In 2001 Jon produced “It’s Yours” for Chez Music and it went on to quickly become a massive club anthem, reaching #1 in the DJ Hype Charts and # 29 in the United Kingdom pop charts. Since then Jon has directed his focus to continue releasing quality house music.
In between his hectic international travel schedule, Jon finds his haven in his studio. After twenty years in the business Jon Cutler maintains the ability to inject his soulful flavor to the house music community.
